Actually, I already had some music in mind...
Here's how it goes. I wish I could write it out in sheet music. If no one can, I'll try to do that.
The Anthem of the Possum, in the key of D (the one with two sharps, show by a #. Notes that are higher than the b are capitalized. For instance, #C in this song is always above a, and an octave above middle C. Almost all of the notes are eighth notes, except at the end of verses and the song.)
Verse One
D D E D b b a
"Oh, nauseous' the possum,"
(The first four notes are quite fast.)
g a b D D
"--An' sticky's the floor,"
(The D's are eighth notes...)
b a b b b b a g D D E D
"An' there are some gangsters around the front door..."
E #F E b b a g E E #F E
"We nae got no money, but we like the snacks!"
E A A #F E b #C D #C b a
"So pay with whatever, sit down and relax!"
(I know, the words changed a little, but it was only to accomadate the tune)
Verse Two
D D E D b b a
"Oh, nauseous' the possum,"
(The first four notes are quite fast.)
g a b D D
D E #F #F #F #F E b d E E
"And the GUJ, aye, that we all fear,"
E E AA E #C b, a b D E E F...
"But we'll never go home, for this that we saayy..."
E #F E #C #C a g b a
"We'll stay in the Possum all night and all day!"
End song. ^_^
I wonder... can anyone figure out the tune from that at all? It makes sense to my twisted mind, at least.
