Zaene couldn't help but laugh at the emminent demise of the celebrating soldiers. It was quite amusing, but he had to get on with it. If the enemy pushed too far forward, it wouldn't work. He raised his arms into the air.
"Now, soldiers of the opposition, feel the wrath of Acacia!"
As he yelled this, two blue beams shot into the sky. The enemy soldiers looked up in confusion. The beams fell back to the earth, landing in the very rear of the retreating soldiers. The impact caused a minor earthquake, which resulted in a massive landslide. Most of the soldiers were caught in the slide, wiping out pretty much the entire battle force. The soldiers quickly finished off the rest.
"Now to wait for Koichi's reaction." He said, laughing.

Koichi rode up behind him on her horse, with a stunned look in her eyes.
"I'll be damned... I hate it when you're right, but at least this is done with..."
She dismounted but froze halfway through, causing her to fall flat on her but.
"This IS done with, right?"

"Unless they somehow manage to dig out from underneath 3 tons of earth, I do believe that it is done." He said.
He then looked to the horizon.
"I want the workers enslaved, and the mines fully operating by noon tommorrow." He turned, and began walking in the direction that Asha had went.

"Of course."
Koichi rode down over the battle field, taking out her trusty whip, and ignighting it with blue flames. She stopped before some ragged looking pesants carrying amuntion.
"Off to the mines with you now! It must be fully operational by noon tomorow!"
"But it's noon in an hour!" Oh the incompitance within.
"I said, BY NOON TOMOROW! ARE YOU DEAF? Move it!"
The ragidy men dropped their amuntition and made to head for the mines.
"That's more like it.... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Hey you useless fools! Your mines are toward the north! Where the hell are you going?!"
"Home."
"What, are you stupid or something? I said go to the MINES!"
"Yes, but who said we were going to listen to you? Besides, we miss our families."
"I don't care about your families, I said the mines, NOW! I'm not a fun person to make mad. WHAT PART OF MINES DO YOU FOOLS NOT UNDERSTAND?!"
"What part of famililes, do YOU not understand?"
Koichi struck him down with her firey whip, and did he ever scream in agony, writhing on the ground screeching in a sort of tune, untill he was finally dead.
"Anyone else?!"
The pesants all scrambeled back toward the north, heading for the mines, none of them wanting to be next. She did stop one pesant, for she had an idea.
"You, go to all the villages and tell them that Koichi is requesting permission to send the men home in groups for two to three days time. But, Zaene is not likely to allow it."

"Excuse me." Petula said from just right of Koichi. "But you just killed one of my patrons." There was a moment silence in which Petula rethought her sentence.
"I mean, ma'am, you killed someone who was about to pay me for showing him a magic trick." That still didn't sound right. Petula sighed.
"I'm a magician." she clarified.

'What a tattered little thing'
"What am I supposed to do about it? I'm not paying you for a trick I didn't see just because your customer is- was a fat rude fool who didn't know his place."
The woman's hand seemed to go for what seemed to be her bag of tricks.
"And no mere magical deception can impress me. I do not like magicians, they're scam artists."

Zaene walked up beside Koichi.
"And no mere magical deception can impress me. I do not like magicians, they're scam artists."
"Oh really, Koichi? That is quite strange, as you like it when I blow things to shreds, and that's magic." Zaene smirked.
"You there, girly. Show me a trick. If I like it, I might not blow you to pieces."

"But, yours is black magic! Hers is deception!"
The tattered girl stood heastiantly (because furball is not here, I am running out of ideas for stalling)
"C'mon chicky."
"Zaene, did that peasant talk to you yet? About the sending them home in groups thing?"

"Hey, I'm older than you." Petula replied sharply. "And I'm foreign."
She pulled out a egg from her pocket along with a deck of cards.
"You want to see a magic trick or are you going to threaten me?"

Zaene tilted his head to one side. "Yeah, that peasant came to see me. I didn't like him, so now they're working double shifts." He then turned to the girl. "I'd love to see a magic trick. I've been here for three days, and haven't seen anything that has slightly entertained me."

It took all her will power not to burn her on the spot.
"I am much older than I seem, so is he. How old are you girly?!" not bothering to hide the rude tones in her voice.

"Thirty-something. I forget." Petula shrugged. She looked over at Zaene and handed him the deck of cards.
"Shuffle it, pick one, then give it back." She instructed. Her left hand was stinging again for no apparent reason, so Petula just tossed the egg up and down in her right hand for temporary entertainment. She eyed Zaene, who hadn't moved. "Look, I have to earn a living, so hurry up."

Zaene grumbled. God blasted magician. I give her the chance to live, and she starts to upset me. How unfun. He shuffled the cards.
"Here." he said, as he handed the deck back, sans one card.

"Now what?"
How long can on trick take.

"Egg, cards, egg, cards." Petula said in a bored tone, swiping the two across each other. "Egg, ca--drat!" She lunged forward to catch the egg and all the cards went flying. Holding the egg in both hands she straightened up calm as could be. Turning to look at Zaene she placidly cracked open the egg and pulled out a folded card from the yolk. She smiled slightly and unfolded it, holding it up for Zaene to see.
"Is this your card, sir?" she asked sweetly.
