Alright, I had to create a new thread. I have a reason. Look, I even made it so everyone can reuse it, so it's not too much of a nuiscance. (I know I spelled that wrong...)

I think it's pretty self explanatory.

Anyways, I would like to remark on the 9/28 announcement, which is as follows.

9/28-- User Marakai Amenhotep, also astartenanukaamisi, has been banned for the ill-treatment of other members. While nothing occured on the board itself, I felt that preemptive action was justifiable because I don't want the forum to become a vehicle for any sort of harassment. I'm going on the word of two well-trusted moderators here.

I doubt there will be any problems, but if there are, direct your complaints to TEO and no one else. Thank you all. ^^

I do not think this was really fair for MA. I know the reason for this revolves mainly around an issue between MA, Jette, and I, but there is no reason to ban MA over it.

The reason why Furball was so upset was merely because MA told her she was a horrible friend. While this really hurt Furball's feelings, MA doesn't always think through the situation before getting upset. The only reason she did this to Furball was because she was confused on what had happened and thought Furball had betrayed her. Furball deserved being put down in the first place, so even then MA had some founding for what she said.

I don't know what the situation is with Jette and I'm not going to make assumptions.

I apologize, MA, for telling everyone about this (in case you are reading this), please understand that I am trying to defend your case.

I ask that you please reconsider banning MA.

I'm sorry for this lengthy rant and annoyingness. Furball promises to stop being a raincloud.

Fair enough and some good points, Furball. As I'm not personally involved in this matter, I would prefer to leave this discussion to those of you who are. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm trying to weasel my way out of the issue or that I'm passing the buck, but y'all honestly know best. From the standpoint of a forum administrator, my only interest is protecting the forum. It was implied to me that some harassment of members had been going on, and we do have something of a precedent for banning members who are harassing others, even by means other than the forums. I realize the case we dealt with a few summers ago isn't quite the same, though, because our troll/harasser did stir up trouble on the actual board, while MA has not.

MA-- if you're reading this-- it's nothing personal. Keep in mind that I am hundreds of miles away from you all and thus can only understand by hearing stories that the involved tell me.

And so-- other thoughts? Not to point fingers, but Jette, you were the one to urge me for this.

I was, indeed, was the one that called for this. However, my dear Furball, MA has not only focused her hatred towards me, but now she's taking it out on Aris as well. You know as well as I that she's a crafty one, and that it would eventually reach the board. So, I tried to put the problem to a stop before it became a problem, by going to TEO. It's not like MA actually goes here anymore, anyway.

Yes, but you and Aris have also been encouraging this behavior. And you know you have.

I'm not saying that MA is totally right in striking out against you and Aris as much as she has, it's not very nice. The whole matter should just be dropped.

If MA doesn't come here anymore why do we need to ban her account? It's entirely unnessicary! It does absolutely nothing for anyone beside tell MA that all her friends on the BWE have now deserted her as well. This isn't true. It just makes a horrible situation worse.

I know you're mad at her Jette, I'm even a bit upset with her, but remember we were the ones who hurt her first.

I hate to sound like I'm entirely against you, Jette, I'm not, I agree with you over some things too.

Furball, I only know what Jette's told me, and you haven't been on to get your side, I just re-got your phone number though, so I'm gonna call you tomorrow and talk about it if that's okay. But the main problem I have right now is her treatment of all of you. I agree that Jette could put this to a halt, but it would just be putting the pot on simmer until it blows up again. There are pros and cons both ways, so I'm not going to give my input there, it's not my business.

But I will not stand for her treatment of you guys, especially you Furball. You're the best friend she would and will ever have, and she's treating you like slime. Simply the fact that you said you DESERVED being put down shows me that she's poisoning your mind into thinking that you're lowlier then you are. Furball, you're one of the best, sweetest, kindest, most caring people that I have ever met and I honestly believe will ever meet, and I love you like my own family. I don't want her making you think you're not good enough, or that you deserve anything but the best life can offer, and she's doing exactly that.

And Furball, she's attacking Aris now. Focusing on Aris. Taking ALL of her agressions out on Aris. And Aris hasn't done anything. I have. I'm upset because she's taking her anger for me out on my friends. Like you, and Aris. And that doesn't make me very happy. And all of her friends at the BWE can't abandon her, she abandoned us first.

He is right, Furrball. I got taken out of a geometry test for a half an hour dicussion about why I hate her. I don't hate her. Her tendecy to over react gets the better of her. Not sometimes, ALL the time. (of course she had no idea about the test, but I almost didn't finish it) She is singling me out, when it was not my doing.

Not to mention the fact that she was very very intent on keeping Jette out of it. Mrs. Counseler almost called him down by mistake, but laughed it off. But then I told her that she should do it. But she kept insisting that it just be me and her.

I'm sorry Furrball, but it is true, and if her banishment has no effect, why make a big deal of it?

Mmmkay. I'm starting to believe that Furball is right, and the banning now seems a touch petty. Since MA hasn't been on in over a year, using the BWE as a method to go after people seems unlikely for her, and it doesn't feel justified anymore.

I'll leave this topic open until the end of Monday. If nothing happens by then, I'm lifting the ban.

But really, guys, I'd prefer it if you sorted this sort of thing out yourselves. Talking about life issues in the General forum is always fine, but involving things that aren't connected at all, like a nonactive member's account, seems pointless and just breeds resentment.

I'm sorry if I seem like a tyrant or a hypocrite, here, but it's how I see the situtation.

Don't worry about it, but TEO, it seems that MA is using every means possible to get at them, so banning is just a messure to keep her from using the board as one. It seems like a good idea. Why don't we keep her deactivated until this all gets fixed, then we reactivate her? Just in case. 'cause frankly, I'm tired of clearing the board of spam and mean things and stuff like that. Can't we keep it deactivated just in case? 'cause I don't want to clean the board off.

I agree with Skiv. I'm attempting to remedy this whole situation in the real world, so if we could keep it there until I get this fixed, t'would be lovely.

I believe we have succeeded in fixing it for now, so we shouldn't have to worry.

Okay. I'm extending it until Wednesday at 9:00 PM, EST. Just for the sake of thing-ness. After that, she is un-banned, and I want to hear nothing more of this issue affecting how the board is ran.
