So. Another site I go on does a monthly CD exchange, where participants are randomly assigned a partner, to whom they mail a mix CD of whatever music they choose. TEO liked the idea, so she gave me permission to organize one on the BWE.
THE RULES:
1. PM me by the last day of September if you want to participate. Only sign up if you really want to do this, no one wants to be disappointed when their partner doesn't pull through.
2. Since we've got a few little clusters of members, tell me who, if anyone, you see every day/live close to, etc. We've all got plenty of time to force our musical tastes on our closest friends. The best example I can think of is TEO and myself-she's my sister, it'd suck if she recieved a mix of Brazilian 60's pop from the person in the next bedroom.
3. Sometime around the first of October, I'll randomly assign partners. I'll post them after they've been assigned.
4. You are responsible for getting in touch with your own CD exchange partner-PM them, email them, IM them, whatever. Don't post your mailing information in this thread for the world to see.
5. You can tell your partner what kind of music you like, and they can go by it, or they can give you something completely different. Be creative.
6. Remember to make out a list of the songs/artists to send with the CD. Ever had the experience of hearing a song you loved and not being able to find out anything about who sang it? Let's save someone the trouble of saying, "Hey, ___ has really good taste, but dammit, now I have to Google nineteen different lyrics."
7. Try to mail the CD within two weeks of finding out who your partner is.
Sound good?

UPDATE:
TEO encouraged me to post a list of the members who've signed up, presumably to peer-pressure those who haven't into joining. So, without furthur ado:
