Kihees!

Ok guys I need some help. I need to know how I could convence my mom to let us foster three half grown kihees, untill we can find them new homes/a new home. Let me explain...

It all started when I was walking to 'Shana's house. I passed by this house, and walking along the sidewalk, I glace to my left and what do I see? *sees Furball jumping up and down with her hand in the air* Shhh! I see a little mommy cat and her three little babies. Well what can I do but stop? I stop, and call der kihees (We love der kihees), and the mom comes up, and her three little ones follow. I sit there and pet them for a while, then go on my way to 'Shana's house.

Three of the sweetest kihees you've ever met. Well, the next time I go up, I go to see them again, and get to love them so much that I just go to see them, even when I'm not on the way to 'Shana's.

Well, they were always skinny, but I thought that was 'cause they were young. Well it's not, their mommy is tiny and underfed, and a little dehydrated, and couldn't give them all enough milk! So I asked mommy if I could bring them food and water one time, she came with me, and we feed them.

Well I hadn't see them for a while, and yesterday I went down, and my three little friends are a little less then half grown, and still very skinny. So today I brought them food and water, and there's no sign of the mommy. I didn't see her yesterday either.

Well these people have two dogs inside (Little punt dogs, they bark at me sometimes when I come), and don't seem to have time for thier cats. They're hardly ever home, and there's a bowl in the flowerbed, but never has had water or food in it.

Well, yesterday, I named the kihees. The little black one with orange highlights is Furball. ;D The black one with shorter hair is Smurt, after ASW, The Almighty Smurtaling Worblonk. And the black one with longer hair is Minnow. 'Cause he nibbles my toes. The two black ones have white feet and white chest I thinks. (I have a diggy camera, I'll take pictures and post them for ya!)

Well, these cats live outside, are dehydrated, underfed, and very very sweet. I wanna get my mom to let us keep them untill we can find them good homes, and get them shots and some meat on them, and water in them, etc... But how could I convence her to let me keep them for a month or so?

Help please! I really love these cats and don't want them to be hungry and thirsty and burning hot. It's like... Really hot here right now, and they didn't have water. I put food down for them and they dive on it and eat like they haven't had food in a month.

P.S. Please pray for em too. Yes I'm asking you to pray for kihees.

I lub der kihees. And I feel for them. I hate people who don't take care of their animals. Makes me sick.

First of all, make very certain that these people hear from someone that they aren't taking care of their kitties properly. It's possible that they don't even realize their cat had them, or they might think that the cats can fend for themselves. I suggest getting your mom and/or a Humane Society/Animal Control officer to tell them that they are, at present, abusing animals, which is a crime. You could also call the Humane Society and ask them what to do. If you don't have a Humane Society, try calling the police and asking for Animal Control. If that fails, or the people won't give the kitties up, try giving them some money for the litter. Fifteen bucks for three kitties is a good bit of money, as a lot of people give them away, but you'll have saved three lives with it. (Most of the above advice comes from my mum, who used to work with the Humane Society. She says that it's also hard to prove that kittens are being neglected unless they're dead. All the best luck in this.)

Then take the kitties to the Humane Society or your area's equivilent. I have a feeling that if your mum sees the kittens and realizes that they really do need care and that you aren't exagerating, she'll take you and them there.

Ask the people at the sheltery wotsit if they need a foster home for the kitties until they're healthy enough to be adopted. They'll probably say yes, 'cause there are a lot of litters born around this time of year. Please, if you don't take them to the Humane Society, at least take them to a vet to make sure they don't have any problems worse than dehydration and lack of food.

I hope you find Mama Cat, too. If it's bad enough, the Mama could get taken away from these people, which I hope does happen. Bastards. Fuckwittage. How can you ignore kitties? Sigh. I hate it when this happens.

And though it's probably a little early, try to convince the people that adopt your kihees to spay and neuter them. A lot of cats aren't, and a lot of kittens suffer because of it. Also check for fleas and ear mites, as they can lead to kitty anemia.

Hope all goes well for the kitties. I *will* pray for them. Few things get me as completely pissed as any sort of animal abuse or neglect does.

I'm gonna go check on the kihees again today, and if they STILL don't have food, or water, then I'm gonna bring my mom down there then talk to her. Show her the skinnyness and the way that they're dehydrated. You can tell by pulling up some of their skin, and if it falls into place slowly, they're not getting enough water. Then I'll ask her.
