A tall, thin boy sulked into the room behind Furball. Why am I here, he thought. I'm a great role-player.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with David. This RP is taking a turn for the worst." He said as he slunk into the desk behind Furball.
"By the way, I'm Jette."

Miss Rachel coughed.
"It must be some of that background insanity leaking through. Perhaps we should change the name to 'novel-style' or 'complex' role-playing. After all, it's possible to be both complex and very silly at the same time."

Furball clears her throat quietly.
"Perhaps if we weren't ourselves when we roll play, as in totally made up new characters, that might help us regain our seriousness. As ourselves are used to the insanity on other places on the board and will unconsciously bring some of it in here with each new arrival until this place is no longer serious." She said slowly. She then smiled, clasping her hands together over the desk.
"What say you?"

Skiv woke up and thought a bit, "I think that the name could stay "Serious Roleplaying," and I do agree with Furball, that we should make characters to play around with. In the little discription thing, it could say that the 'serious' doesn't mean grave, no jokingness, it merely means serious as in we're taking it seriously, writing novel style, making desently long posts, coherent ones too." She paused for breath. "You know?"

"I completely agree with Skiv and Furball. Serious doesn't have to mean dull and boring, but it can't be completely random. And I second making completely new characters for the roleplays." He said, shifting around in his desk.
"Gods, these things are uncomfortable."

David grinned at Jette. "At least you can sit in them. I end up breaking them with this stupid armor... However, I totally agree. RPing shouldn't be boring or incredibly long, but there should be a level of . . . I dunno. Maybe just don't be so random." David stressed the "so." "So, what do we do now? Will there be another threads for characters?"

"There will be, but this was meant to teach people the basic principles of novel-style role-playing, mostly to test the waters. We only drew Skiv in because we were bored. Y'all really don't need to be here, but if you have questions, feel free to ask."
Miss Rachel yawned.

Skiv nodded, "We really should explain novel-style RPing better, I'm not sure Robin gets it."

"And since we all have switched to past tense, this is obviously the perfect time." Furball added.

"I quite agree, Miss Rachel, would you be so kind as to do the honors?" Skiv asked, bowing.
