"I disected a cooked crawfish yesterday at the Chiness restraunt we were at." Skiv's eyes darted. "Daddy had them, and they were staring at me. The one I examined had cataracts, it was funky."
She takes a sip of her coke.
"It's true, most of what we learn in American highschools are not nessisary to learn, which is sickening you know? I mean we could be learning more interesting things then stuff about light waves and protazoa. And the fact that I'm trying to finish tenth grade by the end of May, and then eleventh before the end of December..."
Skiv sighs again.
"I feel so behind."

Furball sighs as well. "At least you're finishing a grade. Furball is so far being too lazy to finish ninth and she's older than you." She frowns. "Wait...is it...? Oh yeah. It's ninth. Yup. Er...I think..."
She offers Skiv a blue paper umbrella. "Something random, Skivvish dearest?"

Skiv takes the paper umbrella and chews thoughtfully on the stick.
"I don't think that's very far behind, I'm apparently two ahead, or something, I dunno. I just want to get done, you know? Oh well, maybe I'm just crazy, who really knows."
Another sip of coke and she settles back into her chair.

"At least you've got a choice! We public school goers learn by force..."
Aris continues to sip coke-wine and grumbles at the celling. She pulls out a bag of paper umbrellas, selects a purple one, and passes it around the room.

"Oh we learn by force, some of us can just choose to learn faster or slower, depending."

"That is a choice. I want to learn faster-- they just won't let me. 'Don't go on to question number five until we're done with the first four...' I could scream."
TEO morosely takes an orange paper umbrella and twirls it like a miniature helicopter.
"Bah. I'm really still all in favor of the 'let-TEO-sit-in-a-corner-and-read-philosophy-texts' education reform, but it's not going anywhere. Even though I could learn something from it, rather than learn how much to tip at restaurants for the fourth time."
The umbrella zooms up out of her hands and thwacks into a wall.
"And I discovered this past week, for some reason, that I am damned good at disecting symbolism in Romantic period poetry. Go figure."

"It's 15%, isn't it?" Furball asks faintly, obviously not really paying attention. "Speaking of symbolism, there's something about Eleanor Rigby I wanted to add, but I can't remember exactly what."

"...I love that song," TEO says, swaying slightly.

Robin takes a yellow flower print umbrella out of the bag and sticks it in her drink thoughtfully.
"Oye, my mother has me 'diagraming sentences' and I hate it. Its boring and I won't need to learn it because I won't have a career in writing. *sighs* Oh well, life is just like that I suppose. TEO, when do you get out of school for the summer? Aris, same to you."
With this question Robin suddenly twists around in her chair untill she is sitting indian style.
"Oh Skiv, you remember JT right? The colt at the stables? Well (hopefully) I am going to get to halter him today." She shakes her head slightly, "Anyway, back to the topic we were on. ...What was it again?"

"Enh... let's see... June 15th, but I have a few exams. Pre-camp staff training starts the 26th-- if I even get hired."
She gnaws nervously on the point of another paper umbrella.

Furball raises a hand morosely. "Math exam tomorrow. Science and German next week. Mostly finals." Furball smiles a little. "On the bright side, I'm going to see one of the Workshoppers tomorrow. I'm absolutely dying for a hug. Yaaaay."

"Oh if only we were closer," Skiv sighs. "I'd give anything to be able to randomly pop out of shrubery and hug you guys."
Skiv nods at Robin.
"How big is he? He'd just been born last I saw, if I remember correctly."
