The only time I participated in a drama club was to prove to my friend Vance that I could be a better actor than he was (in my defense, he'd been attempting to lord it over me about his acting skills for quite some time). We both went after the main part, and I got it.
Of course, than I found out that the rest of the club was a bunch of those creepy kids that you don't make eye contact with, so I quit the whole production and Vance got the part anyway.
The important thing though, is that I made my point.
