The adverage giant squid measures between 50 and 60 feet long. That's about six pool tables end on end. The biggest ever was 59.5 feet long. That'sThat's including their tenicles mind you. They weigh about 110 to 661 pounds. They don't have mouths like we do... They have beaks. Sharp... Beaks... They have suckers on their arms that are about four inches across, and there are hundreds on them. Their tenicles can be bigger around then a muscular man's leg, and longer them 5 feet, easily. So their arms are longer then ME! They like feeding on Sperm whales, though the whales like feeding on them too, and are their only known preditor.
Scared yet?

If those... THINGS... Aren't bad enough?
There may be something bigger and scarier out there. They call it a Colossal Squid. They're heavier then the giant squid, and the suckers that line the arms? They have bendable HOOKS on them that can rotate 360 degrees. Last spring fishermen in the Ross Sea off Antarctica hauled in an incredibly rare juvenile colossal squid that had gotten tangled in their nets. I don't know just how long they are, 'cause the only ones ever caught were just teenagers, squidwise.
So now are you scared?

I KNOW! :: summons world's largest booth, sets giant squid up on it, and hangs a funny sign that says " Buy Your Own Piece of Squid! Prices determined on size, bring your own cutting utensil" and puts on funny Japanese sushi-makers outfit:: Oi, come and get it!![/glow]
